QFES (Qld Fire & Emergency Services) gets special Epoxy Coating for their Rainbow Beach station. Here at Floortec, we not only do Garage Floor coatings, we do a lot of jobs for the Qld Government, mainly in Schools and Fire and Ambulance Stations. A Special Hychem product is used for this purpose undertaking a 5 different coating layer process to complete the job. This is an "Approved" system with the CSIRO/PCCP...and.... To ensure compliance, Floortec is an Accredited applicator undergoing bi-annual Audits by the CSIRO to retain this Certification.

Another "Man Shed" refurbished and looking great! This ordinary looking shed at Noosaville came up a treat after we applied our Seamless Epoxy coating in "Seashell". Looks good enough to live in now! Notice the detail finish around the skirting and joins. This is how we finish all jobs for our FLOORTEC customers. Pics here show "Before" and "After" we carried out the 4 stage process of Grinding to remove all contaminants, patching cracks, application of the base coat, then the chosen colored flake, and finally 2 seal coats. We are Stocked to the Rafters and "Ready to go" for the start of the new financial year. With the current demand for FLOOR & CONCRETE COATING services and the delays in sourcing products due to effect of Covid and delays in supply, its been necessary to buy in bulk to ensure we have sufficient stock and products to service the already booked jobs and future jobs for clients. FLOORTEC is an Accredited Applicator with the CSIRO/PCCP which allows us to undertake projects for the Qld Govt & Local Govt using APAS "approved" products. So at this time of year we are kept busy with jobs at State Schools. The pics here are of a challenging job at Northgate S/School today involving the refurbishment of Stairs. In this case an Anti-Slip "Stone-grip" in the "Opal" color was the chosen finish, with a Light Grey base coat & 2 top coats of Hychem PA Glaze. Pics show 1. the finished look: 2. Due to the unseasonal rainy weather in May, we would like to say a big "thank you" to all those Clients who patiently waited to have their jobs completed due to the constant treat of rain. In particular, to our Clients at Woombye who's driveway refurbishment job had to be rescheduled numerous times while we waited for a run a nice sunny days. The product used is the Shieldcoat "Stencilshield" in a Charcoal colored Base with Night Sky Fleck (see the close up pic for the detail). Sometimes the most challenging jobs provide more satisfaction when completed. This Garage floor at Maleny was certainly one of those. The old floor was covered in a glued down Rubber substance which required removal with our special vinyl lifting equipment, then Grinding with our T8 3 Phase Grinder to ensure all the old glues were removed. The finished floor coating in our Classic Black Granite looks amazing compared to what we started with. The pictures here speak for themselves. ... See MoreSee Less

It was "All Hands on Deck" last week at the new Manual Arts block of the Millmerran State School (west of Toowoomba). We had just 4 days to complete the job to allow time for the new Epoxy coating, (a Mono finish in Grey) to harden and for the rooms to be set up before the return of the students on Monday next week (19 April). The total area was 220 M2. The first 2 days were spent taping and securing electrical outlets, Grinding the Concrete and Patching and Repairing cracks, including Vacuuming of dust.
The final 2 days were rolling Base coat and two Top coats and corking of all joins. Well done team 👍 The finish looks Great! ... See MoreSee Less

We managed to catch a pic of our some of our Staff whilst they were together and getting ready to go to their respective allocated jobs. Floortec operates 3 x teams of 2, allowing us to cover an extensive area Sunshine Coast and beyond. They were all a bit shy, but, they agreed to a picture with their backs turned showing their High Viz Floortec Shirts supplied by Totally Workwear at Birtinya.

It is worth mentioning that our Supervisory Staff are long serving, highly experienced workers. ALL are required to undertake Annual Workplace Health & Safety training, are First Aid & CPR trained by Rapid Response First Aid, hold their White Card License (Construction Industry), have annual Flu A vaccination, and abide by our Covid Safe hygiene rules, as added protection for Clients.

They say the finished job is only as good as the preparation that goes into it. Here at Floortec our job is to provide a professionally applied, attractive and decorative coating to Concrete floors.
We therefore need to understand the condition of the underlying concrete before we apply our coatings, using this Special Equipment pictured below.
To do this we test every concrete surface for "Hardness' and "Moisture" before commencing the preparation process.
The Hardness of the concrete surface will dictate what particular equipment we will need to grind and prepare.
The Moisture content of the concrete will determine if we need to apply a special sealer over the surface before starting the application our coatings. Our EXPERIENCED and TRUSTED Applicators will ensure a great outcome for our Clients. ... See MoreSee Less

However, one Commercial job worth sharing is at a Cafe in Mt Coolum where we refurbished the Kitchen area with an Anti Slip product finished in the Preto color. Another great transformation of a driveway, this time at Woombye. Our clients chose a Neutral base color in "Jasper" to blend with the bushy, rural environment. The Product is a Spray on textured finish by Shieldcoat and comes in a number of colors. Pictures here show the finished job which blends nicely with the surrounding landscape, and then being vacuumed to remove all dust ready to start the coating process, rolling on the sealer after the coatings is sprayed on, to protect the surface and bring out the "real" color, and the driveway after it had been fully ground and cracks patched. The Sunshine Coast, Currimundi Recreational Centre Stage 2 recently completed. This project was of a different part of the Transit Area which Floortec completed in Stage 1. The finish used looks very smart in two tones of BLUESTONE, and is also Anti-Slip.
The lighter finish is Light Bluestone which is contrasted by the Dark Bluestone. This finish is a Cementitious, Spray-On application requiring all adjoining areas to be covered and taped in order to avoid overspray. thank you to our clients at the Currimundi Recreational Centre who are very happy with the outcome. ... Refurbished Man Shed for Classic Cars. Yes, our Client is a CLASSIC CAR enthusiast and needed to spruce up his Man Shed where he stores his beautiful cars. The finish is in GREY GRANITE a very neutral color which looks good in any situation and so easy to keep clean. Perfect for this location! Checkout this amazing Eagle Emblem which we were contracted to refurbish at Morayfield State High School. This was a Special Order job as the existing finish is a very thick white glass over concrete which had become very dirty over time and difficult to clean. Floortec achieved the new finish by high pressure cleaning first, then applying a Water based Primer, then a Base coating followed by an application of White Paint Flake and 2 coats of White Uracryl coating with an Anti Slip additive. The finished job certainly looks great making the school very proud of it's entry area. ... See MoreSee Less

Yet another great use for our hardwearing and hygienic Seamless Floor Coatings. Here we feature an Epoxy Floor Coating system at a Veterinary Animal Hospital in Maroochydore. The client chose a larger fleck finish in Grey toning. Yet another great use for our hardwearing and hygienic Seamless Floor Coatings. Here we feature an Epoxy Floor Coating system at a Veterinary Animal Hospital in Maroochydore. The client chose a larger fleck finish in Grey toning. This job included coving up the walls to 100ml to ensure for the most hygienic and easy to clean solution for the client and of course their patients, those beautiful animals! We have just taken delivery of another H Class Vacuum.
H Class Vacs are now required to be used on all Qld Government jobs, however, here at Floortec we are highly aware of the need for safety for both customers and our staff, and now use them whenever possible on all jobs. The benefit of H Class Vacs is that they reduce the amount of dust particles in the air by filtering around 99.95% of the dust produced during the Grinding of Concrete. This therefore makes for a much cleaner and safer workplace environment. The product we prefer is the Husqvarna model S26 which we purchased from Concrete & Flooring Solutions at Maroochydore. A "happy" outcome after the Floor Coating at Happy Snack Foods.
Our clients at Happy Snack needed to refurbish their Processing Room to provide not only a Clean and Seamless finish, but to brighten up the area. The process to complete this job took a number of days as the old concrete surface not only needed to be ground back but also to be "purged" to ensure that the substrate was completely clean of any old oils and contaminants so the new coatings could be guaranteed to adhere. A Densi -Crete product was used for this process.
Adding the final coatings in the chosen color of "Skye Blue" ensured it was a happy and clean finish for our clients. The product used for the final coating was from our trusted product provider Sika using their Purcem 21/31. Sika The Happy Snack Company ... See MoreSee Less
